Has anyone successfully printed a "packing slip" once creating an invoice in the NEW invoice format for quickbooks online?

I used to be able to select "print packing slip" after creating an invoice and a packing slip would pop up that I could print out and include with deliveries. In the new invoice format when I select "print packing slip" it just populates the invoice and NOT the packing slip. Is it no longer possible to print a packing slip?

    Welcome back to the Community, Pewters.

     

    I'm here to help you print packing slips.

     

     In the new invoice format, there's a new way to print the packing slip. You can find it on the customer transaction lists. Here;'s how:

     

    1. Go to Customers & leads and select Customers.
    2. Select the customer's name to display a list of their transactions.
    3. From the Transaction List tab, select the box next to each invoice or sales receipt for which you want to print a Packing Slip.
    4. Select the Batch actions dropdown, then choose Print packing slip.
    5. The print preview screen will open so you can select printing options, preview, and print.

    Another way around this is to go back to the layout and select Print packing slip after creating an invoice. Keep in mind, once you click the Old Layout you can no longer move back to the new one. Refer to the screenshot below:

    Thank you for your efforts Brian, but unfortunately when I follow those steps you provided, and click on "Print Packing Slip" it is still NOT a packing slip that pops up it is still an invoice. with the word INVOICE in big letters up top and all the pricing and notes that I include on the invoice. It is not a packing slip. 

     

    I guess I'll just go back to the old format since the new one does not work for packing slips.

      Thank you for following the steps I provided above. I see that the invoice shouldn't be the one that will show up when you click Print packing slip. Let me direct you to the best help possible. 

       

      To further investigate this issue, I recommend contacting our support. They will be able to pull up your account in a safe environment and look for the root cause of why the Invoice is showing instead of the Print packing slip. Moreover, other users might also be experiencing this issue. Here's how to connect with our support:

       

      1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
      2. Select Help (?).
      3. Select either tab to get started:
      • Assistant: Get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option, or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.
      • Search: Search the QuickBooks Online knowledge base directly, or select Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us:
        • Start a chat with a support expert.
        • Get a callback from the next available expert.

       

      Be sure to review their support hours so you'll know when agents are available.

      No and it is so frustrating. We have just switched from Desktop to Online and find that the most basic business features are not available - packing slip, order confirmation, purchase order field, shipping fields.

        I was finally able to print the packing slips (from the "Customer" center) by using incognito mode. I was also having trouble simply logging into Quickbooks when not in incognito mode. I'm still very dissatisfied with the online version compared to our old desktop software. It lacks basic business functions.

          This is still an issue a year later! When will this ever be fixed. We tried QB Online over a year ago but switched back to Desktop. Now, the pricing has increased so much for Desktop we have to convert. Again, with no solutions!
