An account you chose for a billable expense doesn't have an income account associated with it. Before you save this transaction, you need to make that association, or the income won't be reported correctly. Can someone help me correct this issue. QBO told me it was due to a random invoicing update

Let's ensure your billable expenses are properly recorded in QuickBooks, Patricia.

The error message appears when you turn the setting to track billable expenses and items as income in multiple accounts from the Accounts and Settings page. To resolve this, you'll need to assign your billable expense account to an income account. I'll list down the steps below for you.

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon at the top-right corner.
  2. Select Chart of accounts under Your company.
  3. Locate the desired expense account.
  4. Click the View register dropdown arrow and then, Edit
  5. On the Account screen, check the Use for billable expenses.
  6. Pick the desired Income Account from the dropdown menu.
  7. Press Save and close.

Once done, your billable expenses should now be recorded and reported properly.
