Question

Hours worked based on customer type

I need to run a report based on customer type to report to MSHA and OSHA. I need a report for actual hours worked in each month not what we invoice each month. Is there a report I can run in QBO or QB Time to show the amount of hours worked based on customer type?

You've come to the right place for assistance, Terrisa.

Let me share some information about the report you'd want to pull up in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) and QuickBooks Time account.

Currently, the report you're looking for is unavailable in QuickBooks. As a workaround, I suggest adding the type as a custom field in the memo when creating a timesheet so that the report will show. Then, export the report to Excel.

I also encourage you to send feedback to our Product Development Team. We promptly review customer requests and consider them when prioritizing product enhancements. To do so, here's how:

  1. Sign in to your company.
  2. Click the Gear icon, then choose Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments in the description box.
  4. Once done, click Next.

To know more about managing and customizing reports in QBO, you can always check this out: Customize reports in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be here, willing to provide further assistance for any additional queries you may have when running a report. Feel free to let me know in the comments below. Keep safe.
