That is not an option in QBO

Dears

Is there any update?

Thank you for posting here in the Community, @jerrys-package-s.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) does not have such a feature. However, you can check for third-party software that can assist you in adding QR codes to invoices.

I'll share the link to our QuickBooks App Center with you. Another option is to go to your QBO account's Apps menu.

Here's how to do it:

  1. From the sidebar menu, choose Apps.
  2. To find apps, go to the Find Apps tab.
  3. To filter the results, type a keyword into the search bar or click the Browse category option.

For additional information on how to edit your templates in QBO, including estimations, see this page: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

Also, you can check out our Help Articles to help you with the tasks and tips when using QBO.

Feel free to go back to this thread if you need help managing invoices. Have a good one.

@Rustler is right. You can visit our QuickBooks Apps to check for an application that can help you add QR code to your invoice.

Your message states this is not a feature... Is it in the works to be a feature? I ask because I created an invoice today, selected Print/Preview and the preview window popped open with the option to add a QR Code. I thought, "Awesome, this will be great for some of my customers." Then I created another invoice for a different client and the typical preview window popped open without the QR code option. What gives? I do not understand how it "Is Not" and option when it clearly pops up for some of my customers and the does not pop up for others.

I appreciate you joining in this thread, Carabeo Brothers.

As referenced by my peers above, adding QR code on invoices is currently unavailable in QuickBooks Online. You may have turned some third-party application that supports this feature the reason why you have the option to add a QR code.

You may search for third-party applications that integrate well and provide seamless scanning of barcodes. Though, we're unable to provide recommendations on which one to use.

I suggest you visit the QuickBooks Apps site and look for an app that meets your business needs. You can also do this inside your company, just go to Apps on the left panel and then enter a keyword in the search field.

In case you need help with utilizing your sales forms templates in QuickBooks Online as well as on what other information you can add, you can go through the resources below:

Add, customize, or remove logos on sales forms.

If I can be of assistance while working in QuickBooks, please let me know. I'd be more than willing to lend you a hand.

QuickBooks previously auto-generated a QR code in an invoice... when you clicked on print or preview, there was an optional checkbox to include a QR code or a link to payment when printing or previewing.   This feature was great, but is no longer appearing as of a few days ago.   Please share information on this if you have any!

Thanks for sharing your insights, @Seattle_1.

For now, I’m unable to share with you the specific time frame as to when this feature will be available in QuickBooks Online (QBO). I’ll take note of this and let our engineering team know so they’ll consider adding this in the future. They're always looking for ways to improve our product to satisfy our customer’s needs.

In the meantime, you can visit our Apps store and look for a third-party app that integrates well with QBO and lets you add a QR code in your invoice. You can refer to the link shared by my colleague Jovychris_A above.

You can also go to the Apps menu in your QBO account and browse for an app from there. Additionally, I recommend checking our QuickBooks blog page from time to time. Here, you'll stay updated on the latest news and happenings in QuickBooks.

Also, allow me to add this article that can guide you through the complete process in case you need to refund your customer in the future: Record a customer refund in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with your QBO account. It’s always my pleasure to help you out. Have a nice day!

what app would be the best to integrate with quickbooks online to use QR codes

December 17, 2020

Hi @jerrys-package-s (and @Carabeo Brothers@Fiat Lux - ASIA ),

As I just posted in another thread on the community forum, a client of mine has recently came across this problem and requested me to create him a solution.

My solution is to append the QR code (and a custom text, like "Pay now via ___:" above it) to the PDF file of the invoice itself.

Would that be something that other QB users would want to use? If so - I am thinking of building an app for that to be listed and available for all QB users via the App Market (as suggested by @mv32@Nick_M and @rvrfrf.)

Hello. Trying to add QR code to the invoice but still don't seem to be available. Will this option be up soon?

April 30, 2021

It’s nice to see you in the Community today, Jane MC.

I’ll help and route you in the right direction on how to add the QR code to your invoices.

As mentioned by my colleagues, you can use a third party to add the QR code to your invoices. We treat all businesses fairly, so I’m unable to recommend which one to use.

The QuickBooks Apps site is a place where you’ll find third-party applications that integrates with the online program. To expedite the process, type a keyword in the search box.

You can check the customers’ reviews to get a better comparison of each app. Then choose the one that best suits your need the most.

I also invite you to visit the QuickBooks Blog to keep you in the loop on the latest news about the product. From there, you'll see the features added to QBO and resources to help your business thrive.

Dont hesitate to hit the Reply button if you have additional questions or concerns. As always, I'm only a few clicks away for help. Have a great rest of the day.

Hi all,

Till now Quickbooks has not added this feature to online or offline versions. Anyone has a solution please contact me. It's urgent.

Thank you

November 17, 2021

Hello there, @raafat. Thank you for visiting us here in Community.

As of now this feature is unavailable in QBO. What I can recommend is to use a third-party app that can integrate to QuickBooks Online. Check out the QBO App Store page to look for one.

If you want to provide us feedback, follow the steps below:

  1. Within your QuickBooks Online company file, choose the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions. Then select Next to submit feedback.

Your suggestion will be forwarded to our Product Development team, who will use it to further enhance your QBO experience. Track feature suggestion here: QuickBooks Online feature request.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Feel free to reach out to me if you need anything else. I’m always here to help.

This feature is required from the government in most countries from 2020, I don't know where is the team of developers? for sure they are sleeping. unfortunately, I will leave QB to work with another accounting company.

This thread has been open for years now and still this functionality has not been enabled in QBO ?

This seems like a pretty basic request and almost invoicing fundamentals in 2023 !!!!

Come on intuit get with the times !

July 17, 2024

I'm trying to figure that out too.  I want to add a financing link to my estimates, invoice and sales receipts. It won't let me customize the template.

July 17, 2024

I'll guide you on adding your financing link in the Website field or Message to customer on or in the Add Footer text for your estimates, invoices, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Christinamnc.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Custom form styles.
  3. Find your template and click Edit under the Action column.
  4. Go to the Content tab and click the header part of the invoice. Add your financing link under the Website field or go to the footer area and add the information in the Add footer text or Message to customer field.

  5. Go to the Emails tab and enter your website and social URLs in the Message to customer field. Please know that the link you want to add in the boxes will be converted into texts.

  6. Click Done

To learn more about adding specific information to your sales forms, please refer to this article: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.

In addition, you can check this article to learn how to automatically or manually send reminders to customers when your invoices are, or soon to be, overdue: Send invoice reminders automatically or manually in QuickBooks Online.

With the new Quickbooks update is there now a way to add a payment QR code to an invoice?  I can't figure ou how to add it.
