I have old customers that I no longer do business with.  Their names and information still show in the drop down menu in the Invoice section.  How can I edit or delete them?

Hi there, Sullyman.

In QuickBooks Self-Employed, the option to delete a customer is currently unavailable. However, I have a workaround that can help you identify the customer is inactive, and I'm here to show you how.

You can modify the customer's display name by adding Inactive to their name.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Invoices and create a new invoice.
  2. Select the customer you want to delete or make inactive.
  3. Click the Edit customer info option.
  4. Change the Customer Display Name and add (Inactive) or (Deleted). For example John (Inactive).
  5. Click Save.

Furthermore, you can also consider manually importing your transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

You can always leave a reply below for further assistance besides deleting a customer in QBSE. I'm always here to assist you.
