Question

How can I enter a field of 60+ chart of accounts into my QB so I can use our individual categories? We are a non-profit and it the preset detail types are insufficient.

Hello there, habtreasurer01.

If you're inquiring about the QuickBooks Online (QBO) Chart of Accounts, it has specific usage limits depending on your subscription. These limits apply to the maximum number of accounts or users you can have at one time in QBO. You are limited in how many billable users, chart of accounts, classes, locations, and tags you can add to QuickBooks.

For the Simple Start, Essential, and Plus plan subscriptions, a maximum of 250 accounts are allowed. The Advanced plan allows for unlimited accounts.

However, if you're referring to the name field, it is limited to 100 characters. Currently, there is no option to add a detail type in QBO. Instead, you can choose the closest detail type available.

If you want to share your thoughts on how we can improve QBO about these features, please use this link to submit your feedback directly to our development team for review or consideration: How do I submit feedback?
