Question

How can I find a year end donor statement (for tax deductions) based on deposit entry? We do not currently use sales invoices to track our donations.

Hello there.

 

You can pull up and customize the Deposit Detail report to view your list of deposit entries and consolidate all donations for a specific year. Let me guide you on how to do this below.

 

Since you don't use sales invoices to track donations, you can run the Deposit Detail report instead to find your account's year-end donor statements based on deposit entries. To do this, here's how:

 

  1. Go to Business overview, then select Reports, or go to Reports.
  2. Use the Find report by name search bar to search for the Deposit Detail report.
  3. Select it to open.
  4. Click the Customize button above.
  5. Set the Report period to This Year. Adjust Filters if necessary.
  6. Click Run report.

Thanks!  I think this will work.  Is there a way to get the report to put page breaks in after each customer/donor?  For the month of July, I have 36 donors and my report is one big report with all of them (7 pages).  It would be great to print/save PDF's straight from QuickBooks that split by vendor.

The option to add page breaks for each customer or donor on the reports is currently unavailable. We continually work to improve and add new features to QuickBooks Online (QBO) to better meet the needs of our users and enhance their working experience. 

 

You can send feedback about incorporating the page break function into the program. The ideas on this page are frequently reviewed by our developers to see what functions users like you would want to see added and included in upcoming releases.

 

To submit your product suggestions: 

 

  1. Head to the Gear icon in the upper right and choose Feedback under Profile.
  2. This will open a window where you can enter your suggestions.
  3. Make sure to type feedback in the field box.
  4. Click Next to submit it.

The best way to create donor statements from your QuickBooks transactions - including deposits - is to use a tool like our BRC Donor Statements - QB Online , which will create an individual statement for each donor, and includes all of the required information on the statement.
