Let me share insights about your concern with searching the account name on the Chart of Accounts (COA) in QuickBooks desktop (QBDT).
The Reset button beside the Search is intended for resetting the name you have entered on the search bar. Thus, pressing this doesn’t affect the condition of your COA. You can locate your accounts in the list as there's nothing changed.
