Question

How can I get the customer name and form type to display in the email subject line when I send invoices, receipts and statements from QB Online Simple?

I send myself a copy of all forms sent to customers, and I need a way to be able to identify each customer by name in the list of sent message subject lines.

Hello there, @cffbf1.

Welcome to the Community. Let me share some information about the invoices in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The customer name will only display under the Bill To section when emailing an invoice. However, we can enter your customer's name by going to the Subject field. I'll show you how:

1. On the invoice page, select Save ad send.

2. In the Subject field, enter your customer's name.

3. Click Save and close.

I've attached articles that help you customize your sales form the way you want it.

Fill me in for any additional questions you've in your mind. I'm always up to lend a hand. Stay safe!

Hi, @cffbf1.

Hope you’re doing great. I wanted to see how everything is going about showing the customer name in the email subject when sending invoices you had the other day. Was it resolved? Do you need any additional help or clarification? If you do, just let me know. I’d be happy to help you at any time.

Looking forward to your reply. Have a pleasant day ahead!

Thanks for the reply, but evidently I wasn't clear in my inquiry.

I don't want to have to enter each customer name manually, I want QB to pull the appropriate name and insert it into the Subject field. How do I configure that?
