Hello there, kdb_2112.

We're unable to add the job/project field within the bank feeds. You'll want to manually add the transactions to a specific job/project. Then, you can add/accept the downloaded transactions, and match them to the existing ones.

Here's how to add a transaction to a project:

  1. Click Projects.
  2. Choose the project, then click to open.
  3. Click the Add to project drop-down arrow, then choose what transaction to create.

When adding or matching a downloaded transaction, select the project name from the Select Customer (optional) drop-down. If you want to allocate an expense to multiple projects, select Split and divide the expense to the different projects. I've got you the article so you can add/match the downloaded transactions to the transactions under a specific job/project: How to add and match downloaded banking transactions.

If you have other questions, I'm just a comment away.

I have the same issue, when importing transactions they need to be assigned to a job.  As it stands I have to enter more details for every transaction that is imported in bank feeds.  Why can't you just add a drop down box to assign it to the proper job.  The info that you gave "click project"  doesn't even exist.  I am using Quickbooks Premier Contractor Edition 2019.

These are simple and COMMON needs for all contractors (and most other businesses) that need to track expenses to a job.  You constantly make us purchase updates of your software, however you FAIL to ever bring any useful updates.  This is a REAL PROBLEM that needs to be addressed.

Hello there, @Sherall0.

I can see how beneficial being able to add jobs directly to your bank feeds transactions. Right now, the only way to add extra information is by going to the Add More Details window.

Also, the steps provided by my colleague about projects are only applicable to the QuickBooks Online users. Please know that I appreciate your input on this feature, and I'll make sure to let our product engineers know about your suggestion.

As we assess this, I suggest you visit the New Features section to stay updated with all the changes that are being made. Here are the steps:

  1. Click the Help tab at the top menu bar.
  2. Hover your cursor to New Features.
  3. Select New Feature Tour or What's New

Please know your voice is important to us, and we take customer’s suggestion as an opportunity to guide us on which area of the product we need to improve on.

Additionally, here's some helpful references that you can check out about using QuickBooks bank feed: Add and match Bank Feed transactions in QuickBooks Desktop.

I am enjoying being able to now add Customer/Project in the bank feed!  However, this field is not showing up with an account that is manually uploaded every month.  I'm wondering how to add project/customer in this scenario?  ***UPDATE*** Just realized the account was not type = Bank or Credit Card.  Once I changed it to Credit Card, the Customer/Project field appeared.

Another helpful idea would be to add Customer/Project to the Accountant's Toolbox - Reclassify Transactions!

Morning,

I looked at how my credit card is set up and it is credit card so how do you get the customer/job option to come up?? I can download the transactions and go into that expense and manually add the job info but that seems like a lot of duplicate work.

Thanks

Hello there, @blockheadnc.

We appreciate your time posting in the Community. Let's sort things out together.

The option to add job costing to your downloaded bank transactions is only available for expenses and all money out entries

Also, make sure to turn on the billable expense option on your Account and Settings. Let me show you how:

  1. Click on the Gear icon.
  2. Go to Account and Settings. Then select the Expenses tab.
  3. Under Bills and expenses, click on the pencil/edit icon.
  4. Put a checkmark on the Track billable expenses and items as income option.
  5. Select whether it's for single or multiple accounts.
  6. Click on Save.

Please feel free to read this article for more details: Enter billable expenses.

Just leave a comment if you have further questions. Have a great weekend!

WHY hasn't this been resolved yet???  We have QBDT Enterprise for Contractors 2023 and this still isn't an option.  We use credit cards for purchases for jobs; one of them alone has 17 pages of transactions per month.

Thanks for joining this thread, Aholden18.

I can see how having the Jobs field in the bank feed would be useful in your QuickBooks Desktop account. In this instance, I recommend submitting feedback to the Product Development Team. This can be done directly through your QBDT account by clicking the Help tab and then Product Suggestion > Send Feedback Online.

With more requests and information received on this matter you're more likely to see the addition of the feature and sooner. Please feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions or concerns.
