My invoices aren't showing up in my P&L even though they are marked as paid.

Hi there, Carol.

It's important to make sure that your invoices show up in your Profit and Loss dashboard from your QuickBooks Self-Employed. With that, let me shed some light on why this data isn't appearing on your dashboard.

The invoice transactions in your QBSE company account are recorded for documentation purposes for the sales or goods you've provided. That's why, these transactions won't show on your Profit and Loss report or dashboard.

However, if you want to make sure your invoices are categorized to their correct business income account, you can check your  Unreviewed income section and approve them. To do so, here's how:

  1. Go to your Transactions, then click the Type: All dropdown.
  2. Select the Unreviewed income.
  3. Locate the paid invoice.
  4. Once you've found it, tick the checkbox.
  5. Click the bag option to Mark as business
  6. From the category dropdown, select Income, then Apply.

Moreover, you can refer to this article if you'd like to organize your transactions into their appropriate categories: Schedule C and expense categories in QuickBooks Solopreneur and QuickBooks Self-Employed.
