How can I run a report that shows all the line items of the invoice, and all the payments and dates made against it?

Balance statement summarizes all invoice line items into a single line. Invoice statement doesn't show payments. And Transaction list shows all customers, when i only want to show a single customer.

Let me help you with this.

There's currently no option to show the line item description on the invoice and the payments, on a single report. You'll need to pull up the Sales by Product/Service Detail report (to show the line items) and Transaction List by Customer report (to show the invoices and payments applied against it).

On the other hand, here's how you to customize the Transaction List by Customer report to show a single/specific customer:

  1. On the left pane, click Reports.
  2. Search Transaction in the Go to Report search field, then select Transaction List by Customer.
  3. Set the correct date range under Report period.
  4. Click the Customize button.
  5. Click the arrow beside Filter.
  6. Under Customer, select the customer you want.
  7. Click Run report.

Is the customize by customer only available in the Essentials version? Also, the Transaction List still shows only one line item for the invoice. It just says "SPLIT" for the details, but I would like to have these listed as separate line items.

You can run the Custom Transaction Detail Report to see each line item of the bill. Here's how:

  1. Click Reports on the menu.
  2. Scroll through Custom Reports, then select Transaction Detail.
  3. Select Filters.
  4. Search Transaction Type, then select Bill.
  5. Click OK.
