I have a tip on how you can access your contractor's tax identification number, JL.

In the normal process, you'll only see the (4) four digits of your Tax Identification Number (NUM) for security purposes. You'll want to pull the Vendor Contact List report to access the information. Let me walk you through how:

  1. Go to the Reports tab, and search for the Vendor Contact List.
  2. Click Customize on the upper right, and click the Change columns hyperlink.

  3. Tick the Tax ID box.
  4. Hit Run report.

Furthermore, the information your customers see on sales forms and invoices depends on what you set up in your account. You may want to edit your data to make sure everything is updated. I've got this information for your reference: Change Your Business Name, Contact Information, or EIN In QuickBooks Online.
