Trying to edit the layout of a report I save as an excel spread. How can I sort my A/R Aging Detail report in order of descending invoice number? First row the lowest number, last row the highest.

Thank you for reaching out with your question about sorting the A/R Aging Detail report in descending order based on invoice numbers when saving it as an Excel spreadsheet. I'd be happy to assist you with this.

To sort the invoice numbers in the desired order, you can utilize the sorting feature within the A/R Aging Detail report. By default, the report is categorized or batched by the due date difference. However, you can still sort the invoice numbers within each category.

Here's how you can achieve this:

  1. Open the A/R Aging Detail report in QuickBooks Online.
  2. Locate the Invoice Number column in the report.
  3. To sort the invoice numbers in ascending order, click once on the arrow icon next to the "Invoice Number" column header.
  4. Click again on the same arrow icon.

By toggling the arrow icon, you can switch between ascending and descending orders for the invoice numbers. Please note that this sorting action will maintain the categorization or batching by the due date difference within the report.

If you require a report that is categorized or batched solely based on the invoice numbers without any regard to the due date difference, you can explore custom report options or consider exporting the data to Excel and applying further sorting and filtering within the spreadsheet program.
