We have received similar concerns or reports about the issue of creating recurring invoices that are not populating the transaction information in QuickBooks Online, @lighthousetsi.

I encourage you to contact our Phone support team. They can add you to our notification list, and you'll receive an email notification once an update is available.

Here’s how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Click Help (?).
  3. Select the Assistant tab to get started and get quick, personalized answers. Select a suggested option or type a question or topic you need help with. If you decide you need further help, you can still Talk to a human.

You can then choose a way to connect with us:

  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

Meanwhile, as a workaround, you can manually enter the details of the transactions in the template screen.  This way, you can just use the template to create similar invoices.

Here's how to create a new template:

  1. Go to Sales, then Invoices or Estimates.
  2. Select Create Invoice or Create Estimate to create a new form. Or to edit an existing form, select an invoice or estimate from the list and select View/Edit.
  3. To add or remove fields, change the color scheme, or turn on payments on invoices, select Manage ⚙.
  4. In the side panel, select Estimate settings or Invoice settings.
  5. Select the dropdown ▼ for each section to see customization options.
  6. Choose what info displays on your form by turning the switches on or off. The form preview updates as you make changes.
  7. Select Deposit or Payment methods to customize payment options, or turn them off.
  8. When you're finished customizing, select Save.
