Question

How can I transfer the time on my timesheets (which were entered in decimals) to invoices which can be printed in decimals?

It was suggested I type time in decimals on the invoices, but that is not efficient.  Why would I have to retype the time?

Welcome to the Community, @drice1. We'll provide information to help you transfer time from your timesheets to your invoices inside QuickBooks Online (QBO).

When entering the timesheet inside the program, tick the box beside Billable. This way, you no longer have to re-enter every detail when creating an invoice, and you'll only have to click Add to transfer timesheet details to your invoices. But before doing so, we recommend checking your Account and settings to see if the option is turned On. We'll input the steps to get you going:

  1. Access your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. On the top-right corner, click the Gear icon.
  3. Select Account and settings.
  4. Go to the Time tab and then in the Timesheet section, toggle the Slider button for Allow time to be billable.
  5. Click the Save button.

You'll then access the timesheet you created earlier and tick the box beside Billable (/hr). After that, click the Save and Close button and create the invoice. Add to Invoice tab will appear once you've selected a customer inside the transaction. Click the Add button in your Add to Invoice tab to reflect your timesheet details.
