How can I turn sub items for inventory products?

Hi there,

We're integrating our platform with QuickBooks Online (QBO). In our Sandbox, we successfully synced both main products and sub-products. However, after deploying to production, we're unable to locate sub-products.

Could you please guide us on any specific settings in QBO that might be affecting sub-product synchronization? This is crucial for our upcoming release, and your prompt help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance for your support.

Hi, @ins. I'm here to help.

QuickBooks Online (QBO) currently doesn't have a direct option for adding and tracking sub-products, which means that sub-products created in Sandbox will not be synchronized with QBO. In the meantime, I recommend finding a third-party inventory management app that has this function. Let me show you how.

  1. In your QBO account, go to Apps.
  2. Select Find Apps.
  3. Type in "inventory management" to search for related apps, or choose Browse categories

Additionally, I encourage submitting a feature request to our product engineers within your QBO account about adding a sub-item option. This will afford customers a better experience in managing inventory using the software in future updates.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.

I'm also adding this guide about categorizing products and services to gain insights into running sales and inventory reports in the future: Group products and services into different categories in QuickBooks Online

You're always welcome in the QuickBooks Community if you have further updates about syncing your products in QBO. Take care.
