How can I update the next check number? Every time checks are printed it is using the wrong number.

When we went from the desktop version to the online version, the check numbering got messed up.  Now every time checks are printed I have do renumber the checks.

The sequence of the check numbers will depend on the number you indicate from the printing queue in QuickBooks Online (QBO). You can follow the steps below to set up the number sequence correctly:

 

  1. Click the + New and tap Print checks.
  2. Load your checks into the printer.
  3. Pick the checking account from which you created the check from the drop-down.
  4. In the Starting check no. field, input the check number of the first check in the printer.
  5. Select the checkbox next to each check you want to print.
  6. Choose Preview and print.
  7. If everything is correct, hit Print.
  8. Tap Done if your checks print correctly.
