Hello there, Tim.

I understand how challenging it is when your customized layout keeps reverting to the original invoice layout. I'm here to guide you in fixing this so you won't have to keep changing the layout.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon or settings, then select Custom form styles.
  2. Select New Styles and choose Invoice.
  3. Rename your custom form to your preference.
  4. Go to the Content tab.
  5. Click the Pencil icon to edit the item list part.
  6. Uncheck the RateAmount, or both checkboxes from the Columns section.
  7. Click Done.
  8. Under the Action column of that custom form style you created, click the dropdown button and select Make default.

You have now successfully created a custom form style that doesn't show the price per item or the whole amount. We've also turned it into your default form style. Now, we will apply these changes to your invoice creation page.

Here's how:

  1. Click the + New button and select Invoice.
  2. Click the Manage button.
  3. Go to the Design tab.
  4. Next to the Recommended Template, click the Remove default to change the default from Modern to your newly made custom form style.
  5. Complete the rest of the invoice and select Review and send.

The steps above is for the new invoice layout. If you're using the old layout and ensured that you've made the style as default then we'll proceed to troubleshooting your browser. Here are the shortcut keys to go private mode in a browser:

For Google Chrome / Microsoft Edge / Opera:
  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + N
For Firefox:
  • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Mac: Command ⌘ + Shift + P
For Safari:
  • Shift + Command ⌘ + N

If this works, you can proceed to clear your browser's cache and cookies. Otherwise, you can also use other supported browsers.
