It's good to see you here in the Community space, jeff. I'm here to help you apply your credit memos that are already issued to an invoice.

Before we proceed, please know that you can only reuse a credit memo if its amount is more than the sum of the previous invoice. For example, if you have an unused credit memo of $10,000 and you applied $6,000 to a previous invoice, the remaining $4,000 can be applied to the succeeding invoice.

Here's how:

  1. Select + New and then click Receive payment.
  2. Choose a customer.
  3. In the Outstanding Transactions section, select the open invoice you want to apply to the credit memo.
  4. In the Credits section, select the credit memos you want to apply.
  5. For the open invoice in the Payment column, enter how much of the credit you want to apply.
  6. Make sure the total is correct after applying the credit memo.
  7. When you're done, select Save and close.

However, if the amount on the invoice surpasses the value of the credit memo, it will not be possible to apply the credit memo.
