I have outlined steps to help you apply the correct account numbers for names and account types in QuickBooks, @MDL4. Allow me to guide you through them.

If you update anything on your bank’s website, such as your account number or username, you'll need to update that information in QuickBooks as well.

Here's how you can do it:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu, then Bank transactions.
  2. Click the tile for the bank account and select the Edit icon.
  3. Select Edit sign-in info.
  4. Update your information as needed.

If you want to activate and use account numbers for your Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks, follow the steps below:

First, let's Enable account numbers feature in the Account and Settings.

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Accounts and settings.

  2. From the Advanced tab.
  3. Select Edit icon in the Chart of accounts section.
  4. Turn on Enable account numbers. If you want account numbers to show in reports and transactions, select Show account numbers.
  5. Click Save and then Done.

After enabling, you can assign account numbers in the Chart of Accounts.

  1. Go to the Chart of Accounts.

  2. Select ✎ Batch edit above the Action column.
  3. In the Number column, add account numbers.
  4. Click Save.
