How do I create a new journal entry for payroll liabilities, using a previous journal entry as a template?

I tried hitting the clock and entering the new date and numbers, but when I go to save, it looks like it wants to replace the previous journal entry.

Let me walk you through creating a new payroll journal entry in QuickBooks Online using a previous entry as a template, Vicki.

Since you want to use your previous Journal Entry, we can reopen it and use the Copy option.

Here's how:

  1. Click the +New icon, then select Journal Entry.
  2. In the upper left corner, click the Clock icon, then select the Journal Entry you want to use.
  3. Once you've opened the journal entry, click More.
  4. Click Copy.
  5. Continue modifying the rest of the field, then click Save.

Once done, I suggest creating a
recurring journal entry to streamline the process. Doing this will allow QuickBooks to automatically create new journal entries based on the template at the specified frequency.
