How do I create a recurring invoice with the Quickbooks mobile app?

I would like to know the QB mobile app allows for creation of recurring invoices, say for either daily, weekly and monthly billing or even a custom date range.

Good day. 

 

I understand the convenience of creating recurring transactions through our mobile devices. 

 

Currently, this feature is unavailable when using the QuickBooks Online (QBO) app version. We can only create this type of transaction via a web browser. Here's how: 
 

  1. Log in to your QBO account. 
  2. Go to the Gear icon. 
  3. Select Recurring transactions.
  4. Click New.
  5. Under the Transaction Type dropdown list, choose Invoice and select OK.
  6. Enter a Template name.
  7. Select a Type: Scheduled, Unscheduled, or Reminder.
  8. Fill out the necessary details. 
  9. Once done, click Save template.

Additionally, you can view a list of all your recurring transactions and the accounts they're linked to by pulling up a Recurring Template List report.

Thank you for the follow up response, it was very helpful.

 

Another question, say I was to create a recurring invoice on my desktop, will I be able to view the recurring invoice on the Quickbooks mobile app as I would any other invoice?

There isn't a way to view recurring invoices on the QuickBooks mobile app, @dswfaz.

 

The mobile app primarily focuses on providing essential accounting features and functionalities on the go, nonetheless, viewing recurring invoices isn't yet supported.

 

For accessing and managing recurring invoices, it is recommended to open a Recurring Template List report on QuickBooks Online by accessing your account in a browser. This report tells you which accounts your recurring transactions are linked to on your chart of accounts.

 

To view your list of recurring transactions, follow these steps:

 

1. Go to Reports.

2. Find and open the Recurring Template List.

3. Select Customize to customize the report.

4. Select to expand the Filter section.

5. Select the Distribution Account checkbox. You can also select specific accounts from the dropdown.

6. Select Run report.
