How do I delete a vehicle I added by mistake in QBO?

Somehow I added a vehicle when trying to enter a trip. Now I have to select which vehicle we used, but really there is only one.

You've come to the right place, @inspector0685.

 

You can deactivate the vehicle that you're not using. Also, you can set a primary vehicle so that the system automatically tags auto-tracked trips to it. I can guide you on how to do it.

 

Depending on the device you're using, here's how to deactivate a vehicle:

 

On a web browser

  1. Go to the Mileage or Trips menu.
  2. Select the Vehicle icon.
  3. Find the vehicle you want to deactivate.
  4. Select Deactivate.

On an Android or iOS device

  1. Open the QuickBooks mobile app.
  2. Follow the steps to go to the Manage Vehicles menu.
  3. Choose the vehicle you want to deactivate.
  4. Tap I no longer use this vehicle
  5. Select Confirm.

On the other hand, you can follow the steps in assigning a primary vehicle:

  1. Go to the Mileage or Trips menu.
  2. Choose the Vehicle icon.
  3. Select the vehicle you want to set.
  4. Toggle on the Set as primary vehicle button.
  5. Click Save.

No, my question was how to delete a vehicle.

    I have this issue, and I don't even have the option to deactivate a car. It really was a problem when I filed taxes because it wouldn't let me submit with 0 miles/trips.

      The option to deactivate a vehicle is applicable for non-primary vehicles. Primary vehicles, which are typically the main mode of transportation for individuals, are expected to have mileage or trips associated with them for tax reporting purposes. You'll want to assign a new primary vehicle first by following these steps:

       

      1. Go to Apps, then select Mileage, or go to Mileage.​
      2. Click the dropdown arrow beside Add trip and choose Manage vehicles.
      3. Select the vehicle you want to set.
      4. Select the Set as primary vehicle toggle.
      5. Select Save.

       

      Once done, here's how to remove a vehicle:

       

      1. Find the vehicle you want to deactivate.
      2. Select it from the list.
      3. Click Vehicle no longer in use.
