If the vehicle is classified as a non-primary vehicle, you can mark it as inactive to keep your records organized. I'll walk you through the process to achieve this, Immanuel.

In QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), there's no option to delete a vehicle entirely, but marking it inactive will effectively remove it from your list of active vehicles.  As long as you don’t track any expenses related to that vehicle, it won’t affect your financial reports at all.

Here’s how to mark a vehicle as inactive:

1. Access your QuickBooks Self-Employed account.
2. Go to Miles.
3. Click the drop-down arrow beside Add trip.
4. Select Manage vehicle.
5. Choose the vehicle, then click Vehicle no longer in use.

Additionally, I have a helpful article on managing bank transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Thank you, but I don't see the "Vehicle no longer in use" option?

We've got some additional information about making your vehicle inactive in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), Immanuel.

The Vehicle no longer in use option will only show if it's a non-primary vehicle. We can only remove or deactivate the vehicle for non-primary use. Please see the screenshots for your reference:

In case you need to make your vehicle inactive (for the secondary one), follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Miles on the left menu.
  2. Click the drop-down arrow beside Add trip.
  3. Choose Manage vehicle.
  4. In the Active section, choose the vehicle aside from the Primary one.
  5. Click the Vehicle no longer in use tab to move it to the Inactive section of your Manage vehicles pane.
