Question

How do I get my money out of QuickBooks checking? Don’t know how they set up this account, but I never authorized it.

I appreciate you taking the time to express your concern, @metalform1380.

Let me help and provide information about QuickBooks Checking in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks Checking is an account where all of your customer payments get deposited. To use this, you must have a QuickBooks Payments Account and should be the Primary or Company admin. You can check this article to know more about QuickBooks Checking, and how to close your QB Checking account.

To move your money out of QuickBooks Checking into your bank account, we'll have to link your bank account first. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Cash Flow menu, then select Transfer money in the QuickBooks Cash section.
  2. Click Transfer in. You won't transfer money yet, we just need to start the connection.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions.
  4. Enter the bank's name and select a type in the Account Type field.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter your info in the Account number and Routing number fields. Then select Next.

After doing so, QuickBooks will send two small deposits to the account within the next three (3) days. Then, you'll get the confirmation email and come back to QuickBooks to verify the transactions.

Once everything is set up, you can now transfer money from your QuickBooks Cash account to your bank account.

  1. Go to the Cash Flow menu, then choose Transfer money in the QuickBooks Cash section.
  2. Click Transfer out.
  3. In the From field, select your QuickBooks Cash account.
  4. In the To field, select the (+). Then select your connected bank account.
  5. Enter the amount you want to move out of your QuickBooks Cash account.
  6. Hit Finalize transfer.

Let me add this resource for additional info: Use your QuickBooks Cash account.

I'll also add this article to help you know what reports you can get from your QBO subscription: Reports Included In Your QuickBooks Online Subscription.

Please don't hesitate to leave a comment below. If you have further concerns about QuickBooks Checking or other QBO-related concerns. I'll be here to assist you.
