Question

How do I get Quick Books Online to only send one copy of the invoice to me? Currently it's sending two.

I'm hoping it isn't sending two to my customers/clients too.

QuickBooks will only send you two invoice copies if you've enabled the Email me a copy box and at the same entered your name on Copy (cc) or Blind Copy (Bcc) field. The same way with your customers or clients. Allow me to illustrate it to you on what you can do to prevent this from happening, Cellc.

You'll have to make sure to check if settings are well configured to receive only one email every now and then. To do so, follow the steps outlined below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and choose Accounts and settings.
  2. Under the Sales tab, click the edit icon beside the Message section.
  3. Tick the Email me a copy box. (You don't have to enter your email address under the CC or Bcc field as you've already informed QuickBooks to email you a copy.)
  4. Click Save.

If this solution doesn't work, let's perform troubleshooting steps to fix this behavior. There are times this happens because of browser-related issues. You can log into your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private window. Refer to the shortcut keys below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P

This mode deletes cookies and browser history leaving your browser clean and easy to access any websites and error-free. After that, you can double-check if it is already sending you one email. If so, go to your main browser and clear the cache to fix the problem. Cached files and data can sometimes cause a webpage to reload. Also, some browsers have a setting that can cause a page to reload automatically. On the other hand, if it is still not working, you can switch to another supported browser.

However, if the issue still persist, I recommend contacting our support team so they can double-check why this happening and investigate further. They have the tools to pull up your account in a secure environment.

Additionally, you can set up QuickBooks to learn how to receive and process payments online. To know more about this, read this article for reference: Receive and Process Payments in QuickBooks Online with QuickBooks Payments.
