Question

How do I go back to old document layout? I can't stand the way the estimates and invoices look. I don't often work through email so it makes my job more difficult.

Hello there, Jana.

I can see how essential it is to switch back to the format you get used to, which makes your work more efficient. Let me share details regarding the new invoice layout so you can achieve your goal.

Users have been migrated to the new invoice experience in QuickBooks Online (QBO). Although they can still switch to the old interface, except for QBO Simple Start and Essential. However, returning again is no longer available once they opt out.

Here's how you can switch your invoice layout:

  1. On the left pane, select +New.
  2. Choose Invoice under the Customers column.
  3. At the top right corner, select Old layout.

On the other hand, I recommend sending feedback directly to our product development team if you can no longer move out of the new interface. Your ideas might be noted and incorporated into future product updates to meet your business needs. Here's how:

  1. Head to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Share your product improvement ideas.
  4. Click Next to submit.

Moreover, you might want to scan these resources to have a guide when entering customer payments and personalizing sales forms:

I also keep receiving the emails about my payment account and now it's declined and funds will be returned to customers. How can I find out if there is money in my account?

I understand the importance of ensuring that the necessary funds are available in your account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), jana.

You can verify the available balance or check for funds in your account by logging into your bank account. If you have access to your payments account, you can sign in to view transactions, deposits, or fees through your Online Service Center.

You can check this article for more information: Find transactions within the Merchant Service Center.

I've added this article to learn more about funding time for your payments, changing the deposit account, and where to view QuickBooks Payments statements, to name a few: Common questions about payment deposits in QuickBooks Online.

Please let me know if you require any further support in handling your payments or any other transactions. I'll be there to help in any way I can. Have a wonderful day.
