How do I import journal entries into Quickbooks Online?

I know I can create a Journal Entry in QB online, but what if I need to import multiple entries? I know I can create each one individually, but is it possible to import them (according to the file format, etc.) and have them entered that way? Thanks in advance!

Being able to import Journal Entries (JE) to QuickBooks Online (QBO) is a great idea. However, this option is currently unavailable. You may want to consider using a third-party application to import them as a workaround.

You can check for supported apps through this link: QuickBooks Apps Store or from the Apps menu.

Here's how:

  1. In QBO, go to the Apps menu at the left pane to get to the Finds Apps page.
  2. Enter a keyword in the Search address (i.e import).
  3. Select the app you wanted to use.
  4. Click Get app now.

I can see how having this option would be helpful for you and your business, and I'll take note of this. Our Product Engineers are always looking for ideas to consider how to improve QBO.

In the meantime, I recommend visiting our Blog site. This is where we share recent happenings and future developments, such as updates to newly added features. Here's the link: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/blog/.

To see the list of what you can import to QBO, refer to this article: Move your lists to QuickBooks Online.

It has been two years since this questions was posed.  Why is this still not an available option?

Hi IAWTFC,

I understand that it would help a lot if there was an option to import journal entries. I wish there's a reason shared with us, so I can answer why it's currently not available to US accounts. For now, I recommend sending a feature request if you haven't already.

If you have any other concerns, feel free to go back to this thread.

You mean into the black hole of requests and feedback that never gets responded to.  Oh believe me I have sent way more than my share.
