Question

How do I know what account a payment will be deposited in? I have a customer who paid their invoice through quick books and that’s has never happened before.

We're glad to have you here in the Community space, Jesse. I can share information on how to know what account payment will deposited in with QuickBooks Payments.

QuickBooks will deposit the invoice payment to the bank you registered when you signed up for QuickBooks Payments. Let's log in to the Merchant Service Center to verify which account is associated with receiving customer payments.

Here's an article you can use to check the deposit speed of customer payments: Check the deposit speed for your product.

Also, if you connect your QuickBooks Payments account to QuickBooks Online (QBO), we can check which account you've selected:

  1. Sign in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Settings and select Account and Settings.
  3. Choose the Payments tab.
  4. Select the Chart of Accounts section.

Ensure that the bank account selected is linked to QBO so that payments will be automatically deposited to the registered bank and help track finances easily.

Furthermore, you can check out this reference to learn how to record invoice payments manually once QuickBooks deposited payments in QBO: Receive and process payments in QBO with QuickBooks Payments.

Let us know if you need additional assistance identifying an account for the deposited funds or other QuickBooks queries. Have a great day ahead.
