How do I run a profit and loss report with specific beginning and ending dates?

I need to run a profit and loss report from a speific date ending on another specific date. I cannot find where to enter the custom dates.

    1. Go to Reports.
    2. In the drop-down menu, type Profit and Loss.
    3. Under the report period drop-down, choose Custom Dates.
    4. The beginning date and ending date will pop up.
