Question

How do I run a report for the hours my independent contractor billed out in a given month?

Rather than looking at all her weekly time sheets, I would love a faster/easier way to see exactly how many hours she billed her/our clients for her time each month.

I appreciate your interest in efficiently tracking the hours your independent contractor bills for their work using QuickBooks Online (QBO), @j-chuckas

While there isn't a specific report designed for this purpose, I'm here to provide you with some practical steps to help you effectively monitor your contractor's hours.

As a workaround, you can pull up the Unbilled time report and the Time Activities by Employee Detail report in QBO. By comparing these reports, you can gain insights into the hours billed by your contractor for a given month. To run these reports, here's how:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. In the Find report by name field, search for "report name". Then, select the report.

Moreover, to further customize and tailor the information to your specific needs, you can export these reports to Excel. This will allow you to modify the data and include additional information as required.

  1. Go to Reports and search for and select the report you want to export.
  2. At the top of the report, select the Export icon. Then select Export to Excel.
  3. Save the file somewhere you can easily find, like your Downloads folder or your desktop.

Just in case you'd like to print reports in QBO, you can refer to this article for your reference: Run reports in QuickBooks Online
