Question

How do I see my product's sales description on invoices and estimates? I don't have the option to customize a new estimate. We have a business account.

Good day, mtemple. Joining you here to make sure that item descriptions are displayed when creating your sales transactions.

Can you also tell us what happens when you attempt to customize your estimate? Allow me to share steps that can help if you're facing issues with missing buttons or functions in QBO.

First, log out of your account and then log back in as the admin. This step ensures that you have the required permissions to customize sales forms.

Second, access your account using an incognito or private browsing session. Then, make the customization from there. Sometimes, browser issues can cause some buttons and functions to hide when working in the program.

Here's how to fix that:

  1. Open your browser and click on the three dots in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select "New Incognito Window" or "New Private Window" from the dropdown menu.
  3. Log in to your QBO account in the new window.

Alternatively, you can switch to other browsers and log in to your account using them. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge are all compatible with QBO.

After that, follow these steps on how to show the description in your sales forms:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Custom form styles.
  2. Click New and select Invoice or Estimate.
  3. Proceed to the Content tab and click the middle of the invoice or estimate.
  4. Check the box for Description.
  5. Click Done
