How do I see the quantity of a service I sold in a year?

I sell my time as a 'day rate'. This 'Labor' is a line item in my products/services list. I would like to see how many days I sold in 2023.

Hi LollyNino_C, I figured it out...

Here are the correct instructions to find quantities sold for a specific product/service (last year):

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu and select Sales by Products/Services Summary report.
  2. Go to the Report Period drop-down, select Last Year
  3. Click Display columns by drop-down, select Products/Services .
  4. Click Customize, expand Filter menu, from Products/Services drop-down, checkmark one or multiple
  5. Select Run report.

Hi, @userjim-keaney! Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I prioritize ensuring you can view your 2023 sales in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

We have the capability to tailor the Sales by Customer Detail report to display the specific products and services that have been sold to your customers.  Let me show you how:

 

  1. Go to the Reports menu and select Sales by Customer Detail report.
  2. Click Customize, hit the Rows/Columns drop-down, then check the box for QTY.
  3. Check the box for Customer and Product/Service.
  4. Select Run report.

 

Also, you may want to memorize your financial reports to save your customization settings for future use. If you wish to know more about this feature and how to do this in QBO, you can check out this article: Memorize reports in QuickBooks Online.

Thanks for the quick response. I do not see a "QTY" option in the SalesByCustomerSummary>Customize>Rows/Columns section. (The only options are: Total Only, Days, Weeks, Months, Quarters, Years, Customers, or Products/Services). Did QBO remove Quantity? I can see a subtotal of what each customer paid (in dollars) for the services/products I have selected, but I cannot see the Quantity sold, and that's really what I'd like to see.

I appreciate the steps you've taken, userjim. I'm here to ensure that you're going to see the quantity of services you've sold this year.

 

The Sales by Customer Summary report provides a general overview of your sales by customer. It displays the dollar amount of sales for each customer, allowing you to see how much each customer has purchased from your business, which is why you can't locate the quantity you've sold. 

 

For you to successfully view the quantity you sold this year, we can pull up these sales and inventory reports in QuickBooks Online. 

 

  • Sales by Product/Service Summary: This shows the total sales for each product and service.
  • Sales by Product/Service Detail: Shows sale transactions by product or services.
