Question

How do I skip the setup screens when I don’t want to take advantage of the assistant? It takes up space at the top of my screen that I’d rather have showing better info.

Hello there, @mscureman67.

I'll be glad to share more details on the pop-ups about managing the assistance feature in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The pop-ups are intended to assist our users in effortlessly exploring QBO. Since this interferes with your ability to conduct business, I suggest selecting the X or the No, thanks buttons to get rid of the pop-up windows.

If you're using Google Chrome, you can follow this article to guide you on how to block the ads: Block certain ads.

Additionally, you can enable the pop-up blocker in your browser. I'll show you how.

  1. Click the lock icon to the left of the address bar.
  2. Select Site Settings (Google Chrome) or Permission for this site (Mozilla browser).
  3. Hover to the Pop-ups and redirects section, and choose Block from the drop-down menu.

Here's how for the Safari browser:

  1. Open your Safari browser.
  2. Click Safari, then Preferences.
  3. Select Websites at the top
  4. Click Pop-up Windows on the left sidebar
  5. Then, select Block in the pop-up menu for the website.

Furthermore, I'm attaching this article that can efficiently guide you in handling your account: Learn about QuickBooks Online with how-to videos.

If you have any more questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach back out to me. I'm always here to help you.

I should have been more specific. I was talking mostly about the iOS and iPadOS apps where there is a welcome panel up at the top of the window that wants me to scan receipts, enter mileage, setup QuickBooks checking accounts, etc. I believe there are similar panels on the dashboard of the browser screen as well, but I rarely log in that way.
