How do I stop QBs from creating a products and services item automatically. I just looked at this module & I have 2,100+ Products in there, all from HomeDepot purchases.

Thanks for sharing your concern in the QuickBooks Community, Amber.

Let me help you check what's causing the product & services to be automatically created in QuickBooks.

Before we proceed, could you confirm to us if your account is linked to any third-party applications? It's possible that these data are originating from these sources, or alternatively, someone with access to your QBO account may have manually imported or created these items.

To verify, let's review your audit log. This is where QuickBooks track your activities to see who made changes to your books and what they did. Here's how:

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Audit log.
  2. Click Filter.
  3. Use the fields on the Filter panel to choose the appropriate UserDate, or Events filter to narrow the results.
  4. Select Apply.

The audit log displays 150 records at a time. For most transactions or events, select View in the History column to open the audit history, which will show you who made the change and what they did.

Please note that QuickBooks automatically creates specific user profiles to track certain actions in the audit log. If you notice a user you don't recognize, you can review the Learn about users created by QuickBooks section of this article to find out who made the changes: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, you can run sales reports in QBO to gain valuable insights into the items you buy and sell, as well as the status of your inventory.
