How do I view 1099s emailed to me from a vendor. I got the email, but where do I view it in my Intuit Quickbooks account?

Before we can dig further and provide you with the information that fits your situation. I'd like to clarify how did the vendor send the 1099? Normally, the employer will send the 1099 to the vendor. After the employer submits 1099-MISC to the IRS, the vendor will get an email when it's ready for download, then the vendor will view it in QuickBooks Self-Employed.  Any additional information would be highly appreciated.

I got the auto email from quickbooks saying I had a 1099 to view.  It is not an "employer" situation.  I provided a service for charge to this customer and this customer did their 1099s via Quickbooks and the email was sent via quickbooks.  I do the same for the 1099s I provide to my contractors.  Where are the 1099s sent to ME from a customer found for viewing?  When I click on the View 1099s from the auto email, it does nothing.

When your employer or client submits your 1099-MISC to the IRS, you'll receive an email notification. Simply click on the link provided in the email to access QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and log in using your Intuit account credentials. From there, you can easily view your 1099 form by following the given steps:

 

  1. Go to the Clients menu on the left panel to see more details.
  2. Head to the Forms tab and choose View. 
  3. From there, you can also select to print the form.
