Question

How do I view all of my fixed assets that aren't fully depreciated?

We just switched to quickbooks online advanced. I imported our fixed assets from FAM and not all of my assets are showing up. Specifically those that aren't fully depreciated.

I appreciate you for using QuickBooks Online Advanced to manage your business, cforehand.

I’m here to walk you through the steps to view those fixed assets. But before that, please know that the system automatically creates the depreciation schedule. Thus, it will automatically posted on the first day of each month. (For example, entries for April will be posted on May 1st.)

I'll show you how:

  1. Go to Advanced accounting, then click Fixed assets.
  2. Find the asset you want to see the schedule and transactions for and select View.
  3. Go to Schedule and select the arrow for each year to view the schedule in detail.
  4. Click the month to view any posted transactions.

None of the assets that aren't fully depreciated are showing. That is the issue. I can't view what I can't see. Also, only 100 of my 240 assets imported from FAM.

Thank you for coming back into this thread, @cforehand.

Usually, you can see your assets that are not yet fully depreciated in the Advance Accounting after importing your data to QuickBooks Online Advance from QuickBooks Desktop's Fixed Asset Manager (FAM).

However, since none of those assets are showing, I suggest contacting our technical support team, for they have the tools to check and solve this issue.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Click Contact Us and choose a way to connect with us:
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a call back from the next available expert.

Additionally, I've added this article to help you learn more about importing your data: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online.

Please let us know if you have further questions about your assets or any QuickBooks-related concerns. We're always happy to help. Stay safe.
