Hello @mnhite-icloud-co,

 

To change a sales receipt in QuickBooks, follow these simple steps:

 

  • Go to the Sales menu.
  • Select All Sales and find the sales receipt you want to update.
  • Click on the receipt to open it.
  • Make your changes—whether it’s updating the amount, customer details, or date.
  • Hit Save and you're all set!

 

Just remember, changing a sales receipt affects your reports, so double-check everything before saving.

Hi, mnhite. Glad to have you in the QuickBooks Community. I'd be happy to help guide you change sales receipt information in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
 
If you need to change details such as the customer, amount, or date, please follow the steps provided by kabel1657. You can also follow the same steps if you need to update the account where the funds will be deposited. However, if you only need to update the income account for sales receipt items, you can make the change on the Products and Services page.

 

You can follow these steps:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon. Then, select Products and services.
  2. Find the item you've entered within the sales receipt. 
  3. Under the Action column, choose Edit.
  4. Scroll down and update the Income account.
