I can help you change your invoice item's quantity (QTY) in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Goody_Girl.

If your progress invoicing is enabled and the invoice you're trying to edit is converted from an estimate, modifying the QTY is not an option. What we can do is enter the Due amount or percentage. After that, the Quantity section will automatically be calculated based on what you have entered in the Due section.

Here's how:

  1. Log in to your QBO account.
  2. Go to the Sales menu and select All sales.
  3. Locate the invoice and click Edit.
  4. From the Due column, edit the customer's amount or percentage due. Once modified, the item's Quantity will adjust according to the entered due value.
  5. Once done, click Save.

However, if progress invoicing is disabled and you can't change the invoice item's QTY, let's troubleshoot your browser to check for excessive cache or cookies data. To start, let's open your account on a private browser.

Kindly follow the keyboard shortcut keys below to proceed:

  • Safari: Command + Option + P
  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Firefox or Internet Explorer: Ctrl + Shift + P

If you can modify the QTY of the invoice item using a private browser, it verifies an issue with your regular browser. Let's fix this by clearing your cache and cookies.

Nevertheless, if the issue persists, you may consider using another supported browser.

Additionally, once your customer pays an invoice, you'll have to record an invoice payment to clear their balance and have accurate sales data in QuickBooks.

I'm still available if you have more questions regarding editing your invoice in QBO. Just leave a comment below, and I'll readily provide needed assistance. Take care.
