How to create subtotals in new invoices

Why in the world would Quickbooks create a new "Invoice Experience" that takes away important features. We rely heavily on estimate/invoice subtotals and price rules and now they are simply gone. I guess I'm not in love with the experience.

I appreciate you for sharing your feedback with us, @sara95. I'm here to ensure you can create subtotals in QuickBooks Online (QBO) using the new invoice experience.

Please know that the subtotals feature is only available using the web version of the new invoice layout.

If you're using the mobile experience, I recommend accessing your QBO account in a supported mobile browser. Here's how:

  1. Go to this link: app.qbo.com, and enter your login credentials.
  2. Select + New and click Invoice.
  3. Fill in the required fields. The Subtotal is located above the Discount field.
  4. Click Save and Close.

Don't worry. We acknowledge customer feedback and use it to improve your QBO experience. That said, you can share your valuable insight with our software engineers so they can consider it in our future product upgrades. To do that, go to the Gear icon and select Feedback.

Once you receive the payment from the customer, you'll need to record it in QBO to ensure your books are accurate.

You can always leave a reply below if you have any concerns about the new invoice and estimate layout. Our team is open around the clock to assist you. Stay safe.
