Your presence here in the Community forum is highly appreciated, @mforse. I've got a way for you to remove a contractor, and I'm here to help you achieve this.

To start, you can delete a contractor by hovering over the Expenses tab of your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account. This way, you can make your desired contractor inactive.

Here's how:

  1. On the left navigational panel, look for the Expenses tab.
  2. Click Contractors.
  3. From there, choose a contractor you want to delete.
  4. Select the Active dropdown under the contractor's name and click Inactive.

Additionally, I'll be dropping this article for you to learn how to pay your contractors using direct deposit in QuickBooks Online: Pay a contractor with direct deposit.

I'm here to lend a helping hand with any other questions or concerns you may have with your contractors. Your satisfaction is my top priority, and I'm committed to ensuring that everything is sorted out the way you need it to be.

THAT IS NOT DELETING THE CONTRACTOR

You can only make contractors inactive to delete them, Hayes. QuickBooks Online Payroll uses this option so you can still access their information and retrieve their status if needed.

When a contractor is deleted or inactive in the program, their information won't display on your active list anymore nor in your reports. You can follow the steps provided by my colleague, Sherrie_F.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your reply if you still have additional questions concerning contractors. Feel free to reach out to the Community at any time. Take care!
