Hi there, @accounting2-shin.

I'll help you delete contractors in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You can deactivate this worker in the Workers or Expenses menu to remove them from the list.

Here's how:

  1. On the left pane, click Expenses.
  2. Click the Workers tab.
  3. Select the contractor you need to delete/inactive.
  4. On the top right, click the small drop-down arrow, then hit Make as inactive

You can use this article for detailed steps on how to delete contractors: Add, Edit, and Inactivate contractors.

For future reference on how to set up Direct Deposit (DD) and other related topics, please visit this article: Contractor direct deposit. Paying your contractor via DD is a more efficient way of paying them instead of cash or check.

Can you not make several contractors inactive at once?  I have 63 of them in one client and I prefer to not have to do this one at a time!

I can see the convenience of deleting contractors at once, @marcycpa. I'll lay out some insights about matter in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Since we can only delete contractors one at a time, I encourage you to send our developer feedback. This way, our system developer can consider adding this feature in QuickBooks Online Payroll.

Follow the steps below:

  1. You can go to the Gear icon.
  2. Under the Profile column, press the Feedback button.
  3. Write your product suggestion, then click Next.

Furthermore, our Product Development team receives your thoughtful comments (QBO) through the feature request tracking QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

To learn more about using QuickBooks Online, managing your account, and handling invoices and subscriptions, see this article for additional references: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.

There you go. I'm excited to provide more information on any Quickbooks-related topic. Please add it in the comment section. May you have a great day.
