I just want the pdf files (I already have all the transactions imported) so my accountant can have copies without (her or I) having to log into my online bank account and download then from there.

I can help you download PDF bank statements through QBO, @gill-armedalarm-.

You can utilize reconciling accounts in order to view and download the bank statements.

Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Reconcile.
  3. In the Account drop-down, choose the specific account you want to reconcile.
  4. If ever you can see the View Statements option, you can get your bank statements directly from your bank for this account. Then tap on View statements in order to view all your available statements.
  5. Once done and when you are ready to start, hit on Start reconciling or Resume reconciling.

However, if you don't have the View Statements option and your bank account is not supported, we can categorize the transaction first.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go back to your Homepage.
  2. Hover your mouse to Transactions, then click on Chart of Accounts.
  3. Select the specific bank account, then click on the Arrow drop-down on the right side of the view register.
  4. Tap on Run report, you can filter the date if necessary.
  5. Once done, you can click on Export/Print at the upper right then select Print/Save as PDF.

Additionally, when you consider connecting your bank account to save time. QuickBooks automatically downloads bank credit card transactions for you after using QuickBooks Online banking feature. Check this article for more information: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

I'm all ears if you need help in managing your bank in QuickBooks. Don't hesitate to reach us out. Stay safe.

this is NOT what the original poster is asking.

this is a lazy response from QBO staff that looks correct but it's not.

we all know how to view our statements in pdf if it's already on QBO.

the hard part is getting the original bank's PDF statements.

just say that the banks don't allow this function or for some other reason there is no way (that I know of) to automatically pull real banking PDF statements from the bank.

You can use pdf2qbo converter tool as a workaround. You can get $100 cashback to purchase via a partner.

To get a bank statement directly from your bank:

  • Visit a branch with your ID 🏦.
  • Request a statement for a specific time range.
  • Some banks may charge a small fee.
  • You can ask for a printed copy or a PDF via email.
  • Ensure your contact details are up to date for email delivery.

This is a universal rule, whenever, the tools or platform is not working, just go for another.
