Hello there, Joiseusc.

Let me provide the insights about excluding accounts from your Chart of Accounts (COA) and different beginning balance in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

To begin with, you can't exclude or delete an account if there's already a transactions unless you want to merge it from another account. Further, most issues with beginning balance are due to incorrect opening balance. The opening balance is the starting point of an account and is set when you first create it in QuickBooks.

To edit or correct your different beginning balance, here's how:

  1. Go to Gear Icon and select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Locate the account of the different beginning balance and select Account History.
  3. Find the opening balance entry and select the opening balance entry.
  4. Edit the date, then the amount.
  5.  Review and then select Save.

For more detailed information, check this article: Enter and manage opening balances

Once done, review your accounts so you can start reconciling, refer to this article: Fix accounts you've reconciled in the past.

I'd also recommend checking out these articles for more reference about how to review downloaded bank and credit card transactions and reconcile your accounts, so they always match your bank and credit card statements:

Please let me know if you have follow-up questions about the chart of accounts or the beginning balance. I'll be more than willing to answer them. Take care always.
