How to Exclude Uncleared Transaction History Showing Up as Zero Amount Transactions Going Way Back in Register?

I exported my company file from QBO to Enterprise 24 recently and ever since while trying to reconcile accounts, it is including ALL transactions ever reconciled and zero'd out in the reconciliation process (which goes all the way back to 2009!) but now they all show up as zero'd out, no amount on the transactions, but as unreconciled. Why is it doing this and how can I make it stop including them on the reconciliations without having to go back and mark thousands of transactions as cleared? I don't have time for that!

Thanks.

@Jhawk1  Best guess is that you're the latest victim of QB's switchover processes.

Are you saying that several prior transactions had their values reduced to $0.00, or are they only showing up as $0.00 in the reconciliation window for some reason?

In any case, assuming that whatever happened didn't screw up your beginning balance as well, it may not be too hard to deal with.

As you stated that the problem transactions are reflecting a $0.00 value in the reconciliation window, I see no reason why you couldn't just start a reconciliation, mark all transactions, unmark the ones that haven't actually cleared, and reconcile back up to date in one go. Even on a slow computer, it shouldn't take more than 10-15 minutes for them all to be marked. Maybe make some lunch while you wait.

You guessed correctly, I moved back from online to Enterprise 24. Things have not gone smoothly at all unfortunately and not just with reconciliations but that's a tale for another time.

I think you're right that I need to just do a "backwards" reconciliation. Actually the migration didn't affect my beginning balance, however, all of the transactions appeared in the reconciliation window as "0" save for some small ones that had previously been cleared in online, but became "uncleared" in Enterprise. So then once I cleared them, my beginning balance was off. I have no clue what changed in the migration to make that happen though.

I could find no way to fix that other than going back and editing the beginning balance to get back on track (which made me cringe.)

Anyway, I thank you for your input. Good to know I must not be the only one struggling to adjust after a migration.

I appreciate you for sharing detailed insights about the uncleared transaction history in QuickBooks Enterprise 24. I truly understand how important it is to maintain an accurate and streamlined reconciliation process. Let me provide you with some valuable information to assist you further.

When migrating to QuickBooks Online to QuickBooks desktop enterprise, all reconciled transactions will have a bold check mark in he Cleared column in QBDT. While all cleared transactions will have a light check mark in the Cleared column in QBDT.

I agree with Fishing for Answer's said. Since you mentioned that all your reconciled transactions dating 2009 are still included and showing zero amount, you don't need to worry as it's not impacting your beginning balance.

Let's still put a check mark on these transactions with a zero amount so they will be marked as reconciled in your bank register as well. However, it is important to verify these transactions with your bank statement to ensure the accuracy of the reconciliation process.

To utilize the batch check in the reconciliation page, you can follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to Banking menu.
  2. Select Reconcile.
  3. Choose the correct bank account, to proceed with the reconciliation.
  4. Beside on the Date, input a check mark to select all transactions in batch.
