Could I calculate the asset value by the data of Custom Transaction Detail or the other data source?
Thanks for coming back to the Community, JinYeh.
QuickBooks Desktop uses the Average Cost method to value your inventory. That’s why the Asset Value column will show on the Inventory Valuation Detail and other inventory reports.
If you opt not to see the average cost of the items, use the data from your Custom Transaction Detail. Please know you’ll have to manually calculate the amount for each one to get the cost.
Here’s an article that provides detailed information on how QuickBooks manages inventory assets, average cost, and COGS: Understand inventory assets and cost of goods sold tracking.
Additionally, this guide contains solutions on how to resolve the following issue: Balance Sheet and Inventory/Stock Valuation reports show different amounts for Inventory Asset account.
