How to hide summary rows from budget vs actual report

Hi,

I would like to create budget vs actual reports for budget holders of various GLs. That said, I do not want them to see the summary rows below:

Total Income

Total Expenses

NET OPERATING INCOME

NET INCOME

How can I do that in a budget vs actual report? I was able to filter by the GLs just fine, but these summary rows remain.

Thanks for joining asking us here in the Community. At the moment, the option to hide summary rows you've listed in the Budget vs. Actual report is unavailable.

As an alternative, you'll want to export your report to Excel, then remove the details you don't want to see from there.

Here's how to export your report:

In the Budget vs. Actual report, move the bar at the bottom towards the right side.
Click the Export icon.
Select Export to Excel.

Hi Katherine,

Thanks for the quick response. For others who come across this thread, using excel is an option or I have adobe acrobat DC, so I can edit the pdf, and delete the rows as well.

In the link you sent, it is called "create and import budget" please excuse my ignorance, but I cannot seem to see an option to import a budget (i.e. from excel into QBO). Where would I see the instructions to import a budget from excel to QBO?

Also, from the API, there is only a "read budget" functionality, and no edit or write functionality unfortunately.

I can share information about importing budget from Excel in QuickBooks Online(QBO).

At the moment, the Import budget option is only available in QuickBooks Online Advanced. You might have QuickBooks Online plus or other versions that's why you haven't seen this feature. With your current version, here are the data that you can import:

Bank Data
Customers
Supplier
Chart of Accounts
Product and Services
Invoice

Alternatively, you'll have to enter the data manually, or you can look for a third-party application that offers this functionality. Use this link to find one: QuickBooks app.
