Hi guys, I am having trouble recording the transfers that are deposited into my primary checking account from Shopify. I know I am doing something wrong but not sure what to change, I have attached a screenshot. The deposit transaction is not being recorded, and a charge is always placed right after.

Hi there, @platinumedition.

Thank you for getting back into this post and giving some more details. We're able to confirm that the issue is not related to your third-party application. Let's work together to fix this!

Creating a deposit in QuickBooks should only show one entry. However, since you're still getting the double transaction on your register though it's a regular deposit, I recommend contacting our phone support. They'll be able to initiate a screen sharing session to better investigate the cause of this.

Here's the link on how and when to contact them:

  1. Visit this link: https://help.quickbooks.intuit.com/en_US/contactus.
  2. Select QuickBooks Mac Desktop.
  3. Select the issue/topic.
  4. Click the Get Phone Number button to see the support number.

And of course, I’m here to help you if you have other concerns. Please also keep me posted on how the call goes. I'd like to make sure this is taken care of.

I went ahead and created Shopify as a customer, made a sales receipt and recorded the transaction to undeposited funds then went ahead and made the deposit from the undeposited funds.

Hello there, @platinumedition.

Thank you for visiting the Community space. I can help you correct the recording of your Shopify transfer deposits in QuickBooks.

May I know the account where you deposit your payment from Shopify? The steps we need to follow depend on the account used. If it's the Undeposited Account, you will have to create a bank deposit:

  1. Click Banking.
  2. Choose Make Deposits.
  3. Select the transaction.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Click Save & Close.

If it's a different account, you will have to create a transfer from the account where it was deposit going to the primary checking account:

  1. Click Banking.
  2. Choose Transfer Funds.
  3. Enter the necessary information.
  4. Click Save & Close.

That should correct the deposit transaction, platinumedition.

Let me know if there's anything else you need or you have additional questions. I'm still here to help you more. Have a good one!

The transfer (deposit) is made directly from Shopify, I am trying to match the transfer (deposit) Shopify automatically does every other day into my checking account.

Hello platinumedition,

You can try to check your Shopify setting to see if you've selected the correct mapping for your deposits.

In case you need more help with your Shopify acccount, please try reaching out to their support.

Once, you're able to correct the account mapping. Try to deposit a transaction to see if it creates a deposit and a charge inside QuickBooks.

Please let us know if you have any questions.
