Question

How to remove the sales tax (noted as a 'T') on an invoice? The box is not checked, but the tax sign continues to show on the right side for each line item.

Hi there, @janet92. I know the possible reason why the sales tax is noted as T in the invoice using QuickBooks Online (QBO). Let me elaborate on it in detail.

When creating an invoice in QBO, the letter T will appear if the item is taxable. However, if the item is non-taxable and it still shows T on the invoice, we can perform browser troubleshooting steps. This will help rule out any possible issues that you may be experiencing. Know that browsers accumulate temporary internet files that can affect your browsing experience. Too many internet files can sometimes change how your QBO company behaves, resulting in errors when performing tasks. See the following keyboard shortcuts for suitable browsers to open a private window:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Option + P
